SPF, which abbreviates Sender Policy Framework, is a certification system that is aimed at preventing the so-called email forging. Basically, it indicates sending some message from one email address and making it look like it’s sent from another one with the purpose to scam in some manner the person opening it. In the event that the SPF protection is activated for a domain, a record which contains all of the mail servers authorized to send messages with addresses under the domain is made. The record is kept on all the DNS servers that direct the web traffic around the world, so they all can identify whether an email message originates from a legitimate server or not. The check is conducted at the first server where the email goes through and in the first case the email message is forwarded, whereas in the second it is discarded and it never gets to the intended recipient. Employing SPF records for your domain names will prevent all unwanted people from using your email addresses for harmful purposes.

SPF Protection in Shared Hosting

SPF protection can be enabled for every domain hosted in a shared hosting account on our cloud platform with only a couple of mouse-clicks. The option is available in the Emails section of our advanced Hepsia Control Panel and all it takes to activate it is to choose one of your domains from a drop-down menu and then enter the hostnames along with the IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the e-mail servers that will be permitted to send messages from your email addresses. As an additional option you may also restrict the emails to be sent from your domain name only when it has our MX records, i.e. if our servers handle the email addresses for it, not a third-party supplier. This solution provides you with the highest degree of protection, but it's not applicable if only your website is on our servers while the e-mail addresses for the domain name are taken care of somewhere else. In either case, our SPF protection service will keep your email addresses risk-free from being used for spam or scam purposes.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

The SPF protection attribute is featured with all semi-dedicated servers, so when you host your domain names in an account on our cloud hosting platform, you can use this particular service with ease for all of your domain names. The Hepsia Control Panel, which comes with the semi-dedicated accounts, offers a very easy to use interface, which means that you will not need to be proficient in the use of computers in order to protected your emails. You'll simply have to type the hostname and the IP of each mail server that you would like to be permitted to send out emails from your addresses and shortly after that the new record will be activated for the domain name that you've chosen. As an extra option, we also give you the ability to restrict your outgoing emails and secure your mailboxes even further by permitting messages to be sent only when the domain name involved contains our MX records i.e. the email messages for the domain name need to be managed by us and not by some other supplier. In this way you'll get even better control and there will not be any chance for anybody to counterfeit your e-mails for harmful activities.
